3 Challenges In 1

I got to do some playing today, so I thought I would do some of the challenges I have been checking out on various blogs. I must admit, I didn't expect to do three in one card, but hey it worked! The first Challenge is at Stamping 411 , which is a sketch challenge. The second is at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge , which is "Animal Party"...use an animal. Lastly,
the third challenge is at Use It Challenges, which has 4 conditions-1) Use an image inspired by nature 2) Use Polka Dots 3) Use your favorite Embellishments 4) Mail it out! ( this will be a swap card...I made 2)
I am thrilled I got 3 into 1...LOL! The stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps...isn't he a cutie? Anyhow, I have a few other things I have been working on, so I will be back. Have a great Afternoon, and thank you for stopping by!

Clear Dollar Stamps DT Call

Clear Dollar Stamps, one of my FAVORITE stamp companies, has a monthly Guest Designer Call. This is the Sketch to use for July. I played a couple months back, and it was so fun, so I thought I would do another this month!

Here is the card I did for the sketch. I used my CDS Set called What A Hoot. Isn't he the cutest owl ever? The tree branches and flowers are also part of this 23 piece set, as well as some sentiments...I just love it! I kept close to the sketch, just put the embellishment ( the bow) on the bottom rather than the top. I also used layered corners to balance it out a bit.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a Blessed Sunday!

Cuter than a Monkey's.....

You can finish that one...LOL! I thought this little guy from Dustin Pike is totally adorable! He was a Wednesday Freebie, so be sure to go check Dustin's Blog and pick up some of his adorable DigiStamps!
I adore Monkeys, so this guy I printed in several different sizes and you will see him again, I promise! This card was made for a Sketch Swap on one of my Yahoo Groups, and I am so happy I used this image...it is perfect! Don't ya just love that smile? LOL I watercolored the entire image, and the saying is from Clear Dollar Stamps. The PP is by My Mind's Eye.
I have some ideas to play with today, so I hope to get back later! Have a wonderful Saturday...stay cool! Thanks for stopping by~

A Card and An Award

Hi Everyone-sorry I have been away a few days! It has been a busy week, and I have had nothing new to show you...til today! This is a card I made for a Red, White and Blue swap...obviously, eh? This is the first time I have inked up this set from Clear Dollar Stamps, and I love the images! I think it is now retired, but if you like it, do check it out!
The card construction is pretty self-explanatory...kraft base, then layers. I am a bit upset my star eyelets look crooked, though, because I DID use my SU Mat Pack...guess I missed the marks...LOL!

I also want to say THANK YOU to my friend, Cindy, for the wonderful award! Here are the rules, and I will pass this one as instructed:

Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
Copy and post the award on your blog.
List 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
Post links to 7 blogs that you are nominating and leave them a note they have received the award.

Ok I am not very interesting, but here goes:
1. I have visited every state in the United States except Hawaii, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
2. I lived in Las Vegas...THAT was an experience...LOL!
3. In 1980 ( yes, I am OLD) I was listed in the Who's Who Among American High School Seniors.
4. I sang for many years in Country bands, and in 1992, my best friend, Darla and I started a Karaoke business. She and her husband still run it!
5. I love Spinach and Mushroom Pizza, Diet Mountain Dew, and Granola Bars.
6. I didn't have my first child til I was 30!
7. 3 WEEKS ago, while home in Iowa, I cut my hair and donated 12 inches to Locks Of Love. I have decided to grow it again, and give another donation!

Are you alseep yet? If not, here are the gals I will send the awards on to:

Joani
Fern
Gina Marie
Shawne
Patty J.
Traci
Giovana

Some of these gals are old friends and some are new, but they are all super talented!! Please check them out!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! We are currently at 98 degrees, so I am IN for the day. Lots of cards to be made...
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Another Manic Monday...

OK are you all singing that song in your head? LOL! I made this Saturday evening...I did NADA yesterday ( BAD STAMPER)!! I am trying to replenish my stash, AND am working on an order for a customer, so Birthday cards are the thing lately. This one is pretty self-explanatory, but I will tell ya some specifics. I wanted to use Kraft paper, but, lo and behold, I was OUT! How'd that happen? Geesh... Anyway, the base card is Pretty in Pink, the second Chocolate Chip and the lightest is Creamy Caramel. The first CC layer is stamped with VersaMark using an old SU Set called Painted Posies. It just needed something...
As you can see, the top layer is CB with Swiss Dots, and the fancy die is also a CB die. The stamp in the white square is from SU Pocket Silhouettes, and the butterfly is Martha Stewart's. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps...as usual~
I am off today to walk the mall. I have to keep these arthritic knees moving this summer so they don't lock up on me. We are already at 80 degrees at 9 a.m., and it is supposed to hit 95...arrghh! I hope you are all staying cool and have a fabby day! Thanks so much for visiting!

Super Saturday!

WOW, it is a scorcher out there today! Great day to stay inside and create! I was MIA yesterday, lots of running to do, but today I have already put together a card for an order I need to fill. I saw a cool card on SCS , so I kinda cased it. I decided to go with green ( one of my LEAST favorite colors, to be honest) because it looks so cool with SU Pocket Silhouettes.
The medallion is made with a Fiskars border punch, then layered. I need to get the SU scallope border punch, because it doesn't have the little holes. I think I would like that better for this particular style card. The sentiment is form Clear Dollar Stamps.

This next card is totally an experiment. I LOVE the cards I see that are Cuttlebugged on half of the card, then left plain on the other. I just inked the CBing DTP after embossing. I added the saying, ribbon, and gems, and had a FAST and EASY little Birthday Card! This will go into my stash, as one can never have too many birthday cards onhand!
Well, I am off to find more to make. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A BEE-utiful Day!

Well, I needed a Get Well Card, and had this little guy from Dustin Pike ( he was a freebie...ain't he cute?) all colored and ready to go, so I made him up.
The sentiment is again, computer generated, and I think works great. I got the sketch from a NEW Sketch Blog called Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I stumbled upon them at SCS, and they look like a FUN challenge for each week. Please be sure to check them out!
Anyway, Mr. Bee is watercolored and then mounted on black. The base card is white, then layered with YoYo Yellow. I cuttlebugged the blue panel, and layered it all together. His wings are glittered, but you can't see it well in the scan.
I hope you are all enjoying a great day...it is beautiful here in Arkansas today! NO RAIN, for a change...hehehe! Thanks for stopping by!

More Digi Stamps

Isn't this little alien too cute? He is from a set a purchased at DigiStamp Boutique. I colored him lastnight, and made him into a card this evening. Since it is already dark outside, I went ahead and scanned the card, hope you can see the details! Then sentiment is computer generated.
I am up later that I should be, so I am gonna head off to bed. If you have any questions, please let me know, since I am not explaining this one very well!
Goodnight, and thanks so much for stopping by~!

Late Night Stamping

I had a million things I was playing with lastnight, and this is the ONE thing I finished...LOL ! I just HAD to try the watercolor with re-inkers technique I have been seeing so much of on everyones' blog. Mine turned out very light, but I think next time I will use darker colored re-inkers...this was done with YoYo Yellow, Postitively Pink, and a Red made by Commotion. I embossed the oval background with SU Manhatten Flower EF in my Cuttlebug. Then I ran Positively Pink ink pad over the raised area. The leaves were cut with SU Little Leaves.
I have some more DigiStamps I am playing with ( they are colored in) so I will see you soon with cards created using them. Thanks for stopping by! I am SUPER close to 5000 hits, and I am ready for a BLOG CANDY! Keep your eyes open, I will post it soon!

I'm Back....

WOW, 2 posts in one day...whatcha think about that? LOL

Like I said earlier, I got some adorable stamps from DigiStamp Boutique lastnight, and I wanted them specifically for this stamp. My Dad recently retired, and has been doing some MondoFishing, so I thought this was just right for his Father's Day Card. I am pleased with how it came out, hope he is.

Thanks again for stopping by...see you soon~

Hello Monday!

Good Morning! I am home from a WONDERFUL visit with my parents and family! I can't believe how the time just flew by~ My baby Brother came down from Minniapolis, and me up from Arkansas, so the whole family was there for Daddy's Retirement Party! It was wonderful! Everyone that was invited was there, a great showing for Dad-lots of people love him.
Back to life, I guess. Yesterday I had a Bridal Shower to attend, and needed a card--go figure....hehehe. This is what I came up with. I don't have an umbrella stamp and couldn't find my pattern for the umbrella Iris Fold, so I made my own paper piecing template and went from there. Guess what the Wedding colors are going to be...LOL! This was a super fast card, aside from making the template. The flowers are punched, and the sentiment is computer generated. The rest speaks for itself.
I bought some adorable DigiStamps yesterday from DigiStamp Boutique, so I will be back later with a Father's Day card to pop in the mail to Daddy. I hope I do them justice...
Thanks for stopping by!

Adios For a While...

I am headed HOME to Iowa early tomorrow morning, so I will not be here for over a week. Lastnight, I made a card I had done YEARS ago, but loved, so I copied it...hehe. I needed another Thinking of You card, and this one fits perfectly.
I hope everyone has a wonderful next couple of weeks! I will be back on the 12th, and I am sure will be anxious to get back to my stamps and Ink! Take care and thanks for stopping by!'
